Enjoyable, especially the first half when they were in the jungle prison – felt like I was there!

Really enjoyed this and found it very original. Many cool concepts. Didn’t realise it was by same author as Cage Of Souls which was also good.

Felt like a trashy, guilty pleasure but I enjoyed it. Funny how my reading has progressed but still like a David Gemmell type story!

Was a page turner and pretty original too. Enjoyed it and will probably dive into the next one some time I need an easy read.

Another one that makes me thankful of who/where I am. Some really haunting parts about kids. Sad.

Brutal and horrendous of course and a good reminder to be thankful we’re born in better times.

Was dissapointed by this, don’t really know what I was hoping for but I ended up skimming most of it because it wasn’t that good.

Was an ok ghosty type story. Didn’t find it particularly scary but quite enjoyed it anyway.

I’d say this isn’t for the fainthearted – not an easy read – but it was really good. Loved Cryptonomicon but found The Diamond Age pretty unenjoyable so I’m glad this has restored my faith. Going to try The Confusion which is next in the series for sure.

Argh he is just SO good! Feel like I could just read David Mitchell books on a loop!
