Another really enjoyable one. Haven’t really read anything like it that I can remember.

For some reason it felt like a guilty pleasure but I really, really enjoyed it. Will definitely give his others a read.

Read in a day on the beach in Turkey – great times! Was actually pretty good. Pretty weird and random and kind of no real point to the whole thing but I enjoyed it. Will probably try some more.

Dissapointing 🙁 I had high hopes for this one, James Robertson is one of my top authors and I love a bit of a weird devil theme but…it just didn’t do it for me. It almost felt a bit day to day boring. Will still add it to my collection though and his other book are quality.

One of my favourite authors now and another book of his I really enjoyed. Pretty different from his others I’ve read. Was good fun and a bit mad.

Really enjoyed this one – wouldn’t be my normal choice but shows it pays to broaden the horizons.

I’ve definitely found other Holocaust books more enthralling. Maybe that’s an interesting observation in itself – I’m becoming numb to the horrors of Holocaust type events.
Managed to get through 13 books in the year. One was a graphic novel and at least one was a continuation from the year before but on the other hand I did start a few that weren’t worth finishing and I’ve got three lengthy/challenging ones that I’m working my way through. Also read a LOT of blog/technical articles.
29 blog articles published this year. I’m quite happy with that and according to my Medium (I seem to get way more views on there than on my personally hosted blog) I’m getting decent views and feedback. Technical/programming/tutorial type articles are the most popular but from a personal preference I do like writing posts that keep a record of what I’ve been up to as well.
I’ve worked hard to get my coding skills up to a good level with a focus on Blockchain/Ethereum development. I successfully passed the ConsenSys Academy 2018 which wasn’t that great value for money but did give me a lot of experience. I’ve also enjoyed working through the Cracking The Coding Interview book although there’s some way to go! I’ve also managed to win some prizes in some hackathons:
$500 for my Colony Hackathon entry.
I won first place and $3000, in the Devery Hackathon for my Auto App. My other entry, the Devery Explorer, got placed into the core Devery repository with the goal to make the developer experience more fluid when working with DeveryJS.
I also managed to add some real contributions to the burner-wallet app, claiming my first gitcoin bounty ($80, total) and gaining some cool Kudos 🙂
Next year I want to do some more of this kind of thing, I’m just trying to decide if I should go the Gitcoin route, the competition route or do something myself.
My movie list is fairly hefty, 36 in total!

Definitely a brutal rollercoast ride. Felt like the style might have influenced Irvine Welsh. Overall enjoyable.

Bit disappointing. Sometimes felt it was a ‘young adult’ level and other times it was really brutal! Wasn’t even one of those fantasy books where it’s a bit crappy but I race through it because it’s still enjoyable, it was actually a bit of a slog.
